I am currently recruiting students to continue our research with Active Galactic Nuclei. We participate in Tuesday teleconferences with our team, including Varoujan Gorgian from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. We are hoping to publish our work by spring.
My student have graduated but our project is not complete. After we presented in Washington, DC in January. We took our show on the road and visited the middle school in the spring. I also presented our project at the Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers meeting.

It was a great day of presenting. The kids were fabulous, explaining and fielding questions like the pros. Way to go! The NITARP program ROCKS! Thomas Hatlehol, Brian Meyer, Ellie Fratt, and Brendan Goestch have been working hard to analyze data from 1886 Seyfert galaxies.
Ashland students interested in our project may apply by Sept. 13th. If funding for the NITARP program continues, we'll be presenting our findings at the American Astronomical Society Meeting in Maryland, near Washington, DC.
Since January, our NITARP team has been meeting by teleconference every Tuesday to draft our research proposal.
You can read it on the new NITARP website. |
